SUPPLEMENT FACTS
PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Sleep and Mood Support

5-HTP is the direct building block your brain converts into serotonin – one step ahead of tryptophan from dietary protein. Serotonin affects mood stability, appetite regulation, and sleep onset. This formula uses Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract, the natural source with the highest 5-HTP concentration, at the dose range used in mood and sleep research.

USAGE 2 capsules once daily, up to 30 minutes before a meal.
BEHIND THE SCIENCE

Serotonin affects three systems most people think about separately: mood, appetite, and sleep. 5-HTP supports all three through the same mechanism – giving your brain a more direct path to serotonin than dietary protein can. If sleep is your primary goal, take it at night; your brain converts serotonin into melatonin as light exposure decreases, and supporting that conversion at the right time matters.

Why 5-HTP instead of tryptophan.

Tryptophan from protein takes two conversion steps to become serotonin. 5-HTP takes one – it enters the pathway ahead of tryptophan, bypassing the rate-limiting step that dietary protein gets stuck at. The same dose delivers more serotonin substrate, more reliably, than tryptophan supplementation at equivalent amounts.

The three use cases.

Mood: serotonin is the neurotransmitter most consistently linked to emotional regulation and mood stability. Appetite: serotonin signals satiety – low serotonin is associated with carbohydrate cravings and overeating. Sleep: serotonin is the precursor to melatonin; your brain converts it into melatonin as light exposure decreases, driving sleep onset.

The Griffonia source.

Griffonia simplicifolia is a West African shrub whose seeds naturally concentrate 5-HTP at 5–20% by weight – higher than any other plant source. Single-source extraction; the active dose is on the label, not buried in a blend.

One timing note.

5-HTP absorbs into the brain more efficiently when taken with a small carbohydrate-containing meal. The carbohydrates trigger an insulin response that clears competing amino acids from the bloodstream, giving 5-HTP easier access to the brain transport system. A piece of fruit or a small amount of carbohydrate alongside the capsule improves delivery.

FAQ
Q.01 How do I take 5-HTP?
Take 2 capsules once a day. The label suggests taking them 20-30 minutes before a meal with an 8 oz. glass of water, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
Q.02 How many servings are in a container of 5-HTP?
The serving size is 2 Capsules, and there are 30 servings per container.
Q.03 What is in each serving of 5-HTP?
Each serving lists Calcium 328 mg (as Calcium Carbonate) and 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) 200 mg (Griffonia simplicifolia seed). Each amount is listed individually – there is no proprietary blend. Other ingredients: Gelatin (capsule), Magnesium Stearate.
Q.04 Who should talk to a doctor before taking 5-HTP?
The product page lists what to know before taking it, including: "Do not combine with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, triptans, tramadol, or dextromethorphan – risk of serotonin syndrome (agitation, fever, muscle rigidity, rapid heart rate)." It also states: "If you take any prescription medication that affects serotonin levels, consult your prescriber before use."
